Re: Trade rumours & armchair pipe dreams 19-20 Sponsored by SKYO

Myers, Bigfuckingugly, Tanev on the right side. Hughes, Edler, Trymankin on the left side. I kinda like the looks of that. Let all the other young D percolate for a year. Bigfuckingugly on a one year, no need to protect him. Edler contract up, no need to protect him. Hughes exempts. Protect the othe...

Re: We're All Doomed!™ (the Conquest, War, Famine, and Death Thread)

Dr. Gallo, who this doctor references, has been accused for decades of manipulating trials and vaccines for the patten rights. Read The Coming Plague or The band Played On. His story is chronicled in both. In fact in the movie, And The Band Played On, Gallo is played by Allan Alda! The story portray...

Re: 2019 NHL ENTRY DRAFT - Vancouver

I don't think many teams will be opening the wallets to FAs this off season. Add in GMs have to set themselves up for expansion and well some FAs may just have to settle for a lot less or shorter terms.

Re: NHL Season suspended - Now what?

That was the point I was trying to make last week. If we hold the draft before the season is done we won't have any trade day deals. And I doubt the NHL will open up TDD to accommodate that. I mean they might right? But then it weakens us going into he rest of the season. So if we hold the draft we ...

Re: NHL Season suspended - Now what?

Well, if they are announcing a draft, then the season is done. Can't draft people and then finish out a season.. how you finish the year determines draft order, so if they are determining draft order now, that means the season is done. They could determine a draft order that appeases the majority o...

Re: NHL Season suspended - Now what?

I think the NHL wants at least 2 Canadian cities and I am sure Trump will be pressuring them to pick at least 2 US cities. Once round one is over then the problems get real because winners have to travel for the next round. I think if the States or Provinces give the green light they are going to do...

Re: NHL Season suspended - Now what?

But Doc what happens come July 1st? Contract will have expired. Do FA agree to play? An injury could really hamper them getting a new contract. Are we allowed to re-sign FA? Well I guess we can since their contracts won't start until next season. But I see all kinds of problems with this. Maybe the ...

Re: NHL Season suspended - Now what?

Vancouver makes more sense than Edmonton for a few reasons, IMHO. One better airport. Two better hotels. Three better city. Plus we have a beach. Seriously it looks like the NHL is serious about getting back this season. Players told to be prepared to be in North America by mid May so they can do th...

Considering theyve expended this much energy debating about these tournament style scenarios then its more than likely to happen imo.

Is there any benefit at all to being a host city?
Hotels will benefit. Some jobs will come back. The riot will be interesting if we social distance properly.

Re: Canucks News n Notes 2019-2020

To me the only thing that potentially sucks, is that if we proceed with the draft the way described Benning has no chance to recover that pick, or the 2nd rounder. Under a normal season completed he would have had potential to try and make draft week deals. I say potential because he didn't have muc...

Re: We're All Doomed!™ (the Conquest, War, Famine, and Death Thread)

Regarding testing. I first came down with symptoms March 11. I called the hotline number. My symptoms were not serious and inspite of my risk factors and age and was told I could not get a test but to self isolate. I haven't left my apartment building since then and only go out to do garbage runs or...

Although Benning did say he thinks Nils is ready for a top 9 role in the NHL. Letting FA vets know that he has a plan B?

Re: Canucks News n Notes 2019-2020

Ya he was quoted somewhere saying that he thinks he is ready to come over and play here and he will do everything he can to show he belongs in the NHL, but he said he also knew he could benefit from playing in the AHL. So I don't see him as a problem child. Canucks want him to play the North America...

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)

Holy crap Mick. His agent had said a few weeks back that it may boil down to where he feels he will get a bigger role and more playing time at this point in his development. I knew right then he wasn't coming to Vancouver. It has everything to do with ice time and a top six role. He wasn't going to ...
