Re: Canucks 2012 Draft picks

Add to that that RNH has already had a serious shoulder injury and HAll a concussion. Time will tell how durable they are and how well they all mix. Of all of them Ederle is the one I cream my jeans for.

Re: Farhan's $0.05 - Canucks might have to deal Corey Schnei

Farhan don't worry. The plan all along is to make a trade that makes the most hockey sense for the Canucks. I think a lot go GM's want Cory so they low ball for Luongo. But if Cory were taken off the market the offers for Luongo might get better. In any event MG will make the best deal possible. The...

Re: Offseason Wheelings and Dealings

Vancouver needs, covets an offensive D'man that can be the PP quarter back. I have no idea who this Shultz kid is but if he is as good as they say then he has a golden opportunity to make the top 4 on this club. Our top three are Bieksa, Hamhuis and Edler. After that we drop off to Tanev, Ballard an...

Re: Canucks 2012 Draft picks

Well, of course there is such a thing as window of opportunity. Just ask Chicago. So the point being that MG needs to make hockey deals, trades or signings, that make sense now and in the future. Teams that blow the wad on a win today mentality have a much shorter window and they may or may not be s...

Re: Offseason Wheelings and Dealings

Interesting on MAG. He got the games and ice time so his rights were protected but the result was that he was unimpressive with all the ice time he got. You can tell he is easily NOT an AV type of player so it is doubtful he would get much ice if he was on the team. Not really surprised if he is not...

Re: Offseason Wheelings and Dealings

Isn't Schultz available tomorrow after midnight, I guess that's Monday morning. I thought I heard or read somewhere that he is eligible to be signed as of Midnight Sunday. But Maybe that's because July 1 is on a Sunday and I am confused??

Re: Luongo will Waive NTC If Asked To

If fairness to Luongo he has not had follow up conversations with the Canucks since locker clean out day so he hasn't been asked to waive anything at this point. What I am hearing is that the Canucks, having received no meaningful offers for either goalie, will now try and get Cory re-signed and th...

Re: Draft 2012

I agree BoS. I think especially with the Kesler rehab there will be an opportunity for a few players to have an extended look. New blood and energy is what the team needs IMHO. I also like that they went for older players who may be able to make the transition to the NHL faster, one can hope.

Re: Luongo will Waive NTC If Asked To

For what its worth, Cory loves Vancouver and wants to stay. He has not asked to be traded and will not ask to be traded. Indications are, through the player rumour mill, that he will consider a 1-2 year deal, at market value (whatever that means) to stay and play in tandem with Luongo. He understand...

Re: Draft 2012

As I saw posted somewhere else. Jensen-Gaunce-Kassian could form a line one day. I say we start the season with them on the second line. Put Booth with the twins. Give then at least the magical 10 games to see if they can do anything. But then ask me after training camp. Until Kesler is back we can...

Re: Offseason Wheelings and Dealings

Pavelec has basically said "I have a $5 mil (or more) year offer from the KHL. Match it or I go". Geex if I were the Jets and I wanted to spend $5 mil or more on a goaltender one ROberto Luongo looks pretty attractive. Unfortunately for them and the canucks I don't think Roberto goes to the Jets. T...

Re: Draft 2012

He has been compared to Backes. If he gives us that well I for one can wait a few years to see him in the line up. But barring any other changes at centre he may get 10 games in Kesler's absence.

Re: Luongo will Waive NTC If Asked To

Well, after a long, tiring and expensive day shopping I was hoping to come here and read some interesting hockey news. What a drag! :D I am surprised that Luongo is not drawing more interest as I really think his contract is not the albatross everyone is speculating about. I think GMs are banking on...

Re: Offseason Wheelings and Dealings

Canucks rumours don't typically come from the canuck camp and are therefore typically removed from the situation. Gillis doesn't like loose lips and doesn't like dealing with teams that have loose lips. Have there been any rumours surrounding the canucks at the time Gillis makes a deal? Not typical...

I doubt it is money he is after. Probably wants to play with his brother or be on a team where he can be more than a third line centre.
