Re: O'Brian and Dan Gendur for Parent +1
I like in this article how they allude to obscure legal passages in the CBA that they are looking at. Like there is some room for interpretation there that they are looking to exploit. I am guessing this is somewhat part of it. Ultimately I wonder if they are hoping in some way that Salo never gets ...

Re: MayRay signs
Just because its nice to have someone bitching in every thread I'm a little nervous about this deal still. So far Mason has had one season above 20 goals. I would have been more comfortable with a one year contract just in case we get another season of flashes of brilliance combined with long goal l...

Re: Ehrhoff out
Actually no it means Johnson Just read on the Canucks Twitter that Erhoff is day to day (YAY!) but Johnson has broken foot and will be out 4-6 weeks. He's the total type of guy we need in the playoffs. Damn shame if he is going to miss them.
Bernier is apparently back though.

Could Burrows and Raymond hit 30 Goals?
I know its a total pipe dream but after Burrows 6 goal spurt and Raymond's surprising season they are on pace for it. That would be a real gift if we ended up with 30 - 3 Goal scorers that weren't named Daniel Sedin. (I'm assuming Henrik could also hit 30 here with his 20 already netted). Who would ...

Re: Grabner's injury "Severe"
Notice what Kesler said there: "We basically win by outworking teams..." That is an incredibly heartening thing to hear; compare it to what the Canucks, for all their talent, were like back in the mid-2000s. I'm still not a huge Kesler fan, but do respect him, and he's starting to really make his m...

Re: Team 1040: Pettinger Signed
Its a fairly cheap, fairly safe move. If I remember correctly Pettinger wasn't a defensive liability at least so he can fill a spot without causing issue. I guess the debate is whether Shirokov couldn't have learned on the job so to speak with the Canucks a bit more. Seems its not a risk they are in...

What's the latest on Daniel?
Been wondering about Daniel. His 3 week prediction has come and gone and I haven't heard any rumblings that he will be making the upcoming road trip. I'm guessing we have till at least mid-November till we'll see him back? There's been so many injuries to talk about that his seems to have fallen off...

Re: Demitra's Shoulder
If he's a write off for the year do we look to try to trade to pick up another player to fill his spot? That's an interesting dilema. Otherwise we probably stick with Grabner/Shirokov for the rest of the year in the top 6

Re: Grabner called up
I'm glad to see Grabner get his first NHL game under his belt this way. It has shown to be responsible defensively even if he hasn't put up points in exhibition. Got to reward him for the pace he's been on since being sent down. Be a nice cinderella story if he could step in and not look out of place.

Hodgson to OHL and Lukowich Waived
Looks like we're down to our roster more or less. Can't believe Tanner Glass is still with the team. I'm fairly surprised that Hodgson didn't make the team for a 9 game tryout but I didn't really see him play. Sounds like the consensus was that he definitely is not yet ready. http://www.team1040.ca/...

It's that time of year - Pick your starting lines
We all like to do this at the start of the season and inevitably we're all wrong. Lets give it a shot anyway. I'd like to see this for opening night. Sedin-Sedin-Burrows Kelser-Wellwood-Samuellson Grabner-Hodgson-Bernier Hordichuk-Johnson-Hansen Extra forward: Parrish to be replaced by Demitra when ...

Re: Up against the cap.
I think that as much as Demitra is overpaid at $4Mil we are pretty much stuck with him whether he's liked or not. He still has hockey smarts and is an excellent passer. I think the only thing that might work out is that since he's going to start the season on the IR I believe we can get away with ke...

Re: Mark Parrish awarded try-out for Canucks
I really like this invite to camp. Guy has been a 30 goal scorer in the past, not likely to suddenly become one again but I could see him bumping a Mason Raymond if Raymond doesn't get his game together. I think Parrish has already shown he'd play for league minimum so may even be a way to get under...

Re: Sportsnet report
Oh god, I kind of think the team doesn't need the distraction. Gillis already said he'd have to be ready for training camp. No fricken way he is showing up on Monday. However of course if he could be signed for $2Mill it'd be a great signing. We would have to dump demitra's $4Mil contract onto someo...
