Re: Vancouver's Hockey "Media"

That's a fantastic list of countries and adventures, HW. Maybe we need a separate thread entitled "Hockey Widow's Around the World in 180 days".

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)

Not that it particularly contradicts Blob's comment, but the Bruins did miss the playoffs seven times and had several early playoff exits in the last 25 years.

Re: Vancouver's Hockey "Media"

Dhaliwal is OK in limited doses, but the bitchy-banter thing that show does is awful which makes Halford/Brough the alternative in that slot. They're fine. The mid-day stuff is pretty grim. Moj is very good talking football, but pretty meh otherwise and Don is past his expiration date - but, the 650...

Tedeschi Trucks Band, the second set is nearly all Derek and the Dominoes Layla covers with Trey Anastasio and Doyle Bramhall II. Doyle playing lefty on an upside down strung guitar. Whoa... that's some guitar skill right there. Also check out Bramhall II on Roger Waters' In The Flesh concert DVD f...

Dzingel was Button’s choice for Van, too. Thought he better suited the Canucks needs..

Text book, I believe.

Yeah, I realize that. Sorry, I sort of combined two thoughts there. 1) I hope he’s got serious talent and 2) whatever Burke speculated regarding the possibility of a shortened contract may come to pass. I suspect Benning didn’t even expect he’d be available.

There are some exceptional Russian players in the league right now. And note that the best ones don’t seem to be ‘problems’. Here’s hoping he makes it to the team sooner than 2 years.

Age, durability and Seattle Expansion playing into Bennings decision. To let Edler walk, better options out there, Myers is 4 years younger and more durable, same with Gardiner who turns 29 in July And they are worse players too. But hey let’s give them more annual salary and seven years to take th...

Nonetheless, congratulations to the Raptors on an impressive team victory.

How long will it be before the fan base moves from understandably jubilant to perpetually pompous and self-righteous?
