Funny you mention Sharifjanov, because Brian Burke, to this day will tell you that that trade with New Jersey, giving up a second round pick for the "Sheriff" was the worst trade he ever made as Canucks GM.

It's not going to be Andy Murray. In fact, I'd be ultimately shocked if it was. Look for Alain Vigneault, Don Lever, Kevin McCarthy, Mike Johnston, and whoever gets fired after the first round of the playoffs, to be the front runners. From what I hear, Murray is as much a slave driver as some coache...

Well it also didn't help that his defense refused to move anyone from in front of the net. But you're right, Auld has looked better. Very weak on a couple of goals, especially Peca's and Smyth's.

Just got back from the game. Don't be too hard on Naslund. The guy has a pulled groin and is having troubles skating. And for those of you who've never played the game, it's hard to take a solid wrist shot, (Naslund's strength), when you don't have a leg to push off of. For the past couple days, he'...

WCE......This is what I heard from very credible sources. Walter Gretzky, Wayne and Mike Barnett met with Pat Quinn and George McPhee and John McCaw here in Vancouver. They were negotiating, and had agreed on a three year, 18-21 million dollar package. After a day of negotiating, they shook hands, a...

Possibly, and possibly not.....But I still would have rather of had Gretzky here than Messier. Gretzky has always had a soft spot for Vancouver, and you have to admit the greatone would have looked great with Bure and Mogilny.

Not that I want to start a Mike Keenan debate, but before he came along, Aucoin and Naslund went from doghouse, and possible busts, to all-star players. He's the one who had the confidence in Bertuzzi and McCabe when they came over in the Linden trade, which I know Trevor thinks was a great trade fo...

My first Canucks memory was watching Jere Gillis score two goals in a game. I was about six years old and I think it was the first or second year of the "V" uniforms. I thought Jere Gillis was the bomb after that, and I had to wear #21 playing street hockey. Little did I know, looking back, how aver...

Jovo knows he's a premier defenseman. His agent, Pat Morris certainly knows. And I believe too, that he's wanting to cash in, and make up for the money that he lost in the lockout. Like I said in a previous post, George, everything to do with Jovanovski's life, except the hockey team, is out east. H...

I think what will really determine Jovo's value to the team is if he pulls a Nassy and signs here for cheaper than what he'd get on the open market. There is room next year. Don't forget Park and Carter are on one way deals. If Cloutier tanks it in the playoffs again, look for him to be moved. Losin...

From what I know, Dave Nonis and Jovo's agent Pat Morris haven't even discussed a new extension yet. And I can't see Nonis letting a hot commodity like Jovanovski, go for free, when he can get something for him in return. I know the team wants to retain his rights, but Jovanovski's life is in the Ea...
