Re: The Official CC "All Thing Leaves" thread

I’m looking forward to watching the likes of Tampa and Nashville and Vegas and especially the Leaves work thru their cap issues and large ticket, non performing players.... Read that none of the remaining teams still in the playoffs have a $10 million contract, the Leaves might have 3.... This is g...

Re: Trade rumours & armchair pipe dreams 18-19 Sponsored by SKYO

\Our trade chips that have value (younger, good contracts, have upside & have some proven NHL experience): Hutton, Virtanen, Stecher and Gaudette. Save for maybe the Rask/Niedereiter deal, none of our guys have the same value as any of the key pieces listed above. Jake Virtanen + Adam Gaudette for ...

He’s an average GM, no more, no less. Not sure why that’s so hard for some to figure out.
About sums it up. He’s probably the right guy to have around the draft table, the wrong one to bring to negotiations (with free agents or other GMs).

Re: 2018-2019 Playoffs - Round 1

Fleury is a LOCK. Remember this the HHOF that has slugs like Dick Duff and Clark Gillies in it. 100%. He's 3-4 good seasons away from passing Patrick Roy for wins. He'd likely get in without any rings (see Luongo, Roberto). If Luongo gets in, I agree Fleury will get in. But Osgood started for 2 Cup...

Re: 2018-2019 Playoffs - Round 1

He’s going to end up with close to 600 wins. Played in the finals five times. Three cups. He’s a sure fire HHOFer. He belongs there long before Roberto Luongo. He's played in the finals 3 times, and is 1 for 3. He's also been eliminated in the 1st round 6 times. It'll be interesting, he's certainly...

Re: 2019 offseason

Signing a guy like Karlsson makes a ton of sense - he's elite This is what it boils down to. He's a top-5-10 player at his position in the NHL. He could be destined for the Hall of Fame. If you have the option to sign someone like that, on the right side of 30, you do it and figure out how to make ...

Re: Trade rumours & armchair pipe dreams 18-19 Sponsored by SKYO

Yes I know everyone wants to trade eriksson, sutter etc but those will be difficult. So the type of ' hockey deals ' Benning should try to emulate is: hamilton, ferland, fox for hanifin, lindholm galchenyuk for domi rask for niederreiter schenn, simmonds for m richards & try to get either an in-prim...

Re: 2019 offseason

I would be thrilled If QH could command $10M coming out of his ELC, as it would mean he's the second coming of Bobby Orr.

Yes, he has played on the wing.
He may actually be better on the wing+faceoff guy. The less playmaking the guy has to do the better. His stick is where plays go to die.

In fact, I've never spoken to Dean Lombardi in my life.
He should pick up the phone.
