Re: Canucks News n Notes 22-23

I saw that, very sad news, way too young. Anybody who went to games back in the 80's and bought a program would have seen them in Mark's WW ads together. I think they had posters placed around the arena too. Cute couple.

Re: 2022 Training Camp

Things to watch, has Pearson lost a step or two? Will Bruce, unlike the Trevasty that preceded him, make early cuts and get down to a starting roster early instead of the last day? Just to add to what HW posted, Dhaliwal was kind of speculating yesterday that maybe they're starting Pearson with Mil...

Re: 2022 Training Camp

You have to admit, that's a pretty decent and deep forward group, with guys like Hoglander and Lockwood, who have NHL experience waiting in the wings. These guys seem to all be on the same page, just focused and motivated to finally start consistently competing for the playoffs. You can see the res...

Re: Trade Rumours & Armchair Pipe Dreams 22-23 Sponsored by SKYO

Or Hogz straight up for Hague....that's the type of player I'd trade hoglander for. I don't see a fit with Hague, Skyo, but I would be very interested in a DiPietro+ deal for Kaedan Korczak, if Vegas is interested in adding a goalie. Korczak is projected to be a 6'3" shutdown RHD, played junior in ...

Re: Trade Rumours & Armchair Pipe Dreams 22-23 Sponsored by SKYO

23 year old 6'6 LHD Nicolas Hague might be on the trade block. What are we giving up to get him SKYO? I don't even know what they need, DiPietro, Rathbone and a 2nd? that's cheap on the books, I think they need a young goalie for the future. Or Hogz straight up for Hague....that's the type of playe...

As soon as I read that - that silly circus song went off in my head.

Defending in our zone, with that pair
For me, it was this.

Re: 2022 Training Camp

Some of the camp combinations are interesting. Pearson gets to start with Miller and Boeser, great opportunity for him. Pettersson with Kuzmenko and Mikheyev. I'm surprised Pettersson wasn't lined up with one of Boeser or Podkolzin. Hoglander with the two new Swedes destined for Abby is not a good s...

Re: Canucks News n Notes 22-23

Interesting comment from Boudreau today about starting Garland on LW. That would leave Boeser and Podkolzin as holdovers, and I guess, Mikheyev, plays his off wing?

Re: Canucks News n Notes 22-23

Will Rathbone make the team? Will the team start the season without extending Bo? Will Hughes work on the right side? Will Pettersson come out of the gate strong and maintain that level for a full season? Will the Russians light it up? Are we still short a top 4 defenseman? I think Rathbone makes t...

Re: Canucks News n Notes 22-23

FWIW, Dhaliwal said he followed up with both camps, and each flatly denied the Seravalli comment that Horvat's initial offer started with a 5. Wording might have been stronger than that. This is on the heels of the Toronto based media spinning more Miller rumours than anybody, including Dreger, I be...

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)

Fair contract. They already have Makar signed to a great deal at $9 million annually, and Johnson comes off the books after this season. Avs have two of the top three players in the world. Disgusting.

Re: Hughes moving to the right side, from IMac's article, I'm not sure if I'd heard this before. “I started to work in the summer on some different packages and I think there’s more things I can do offensively on the blue line on the right side,” Hughes explained. “Sometimes I find myself stationary...

Per's getting obsessed with Schmiemann, just wait until Abby signs center Patrick Schmiedlin to a PTO.

Re: 2022 Young Stars Tourny

Kannok Liepert with the tko over Engaris in a free swinging two fisted set too... He shoots right, might be found money there. Ex-Giants looking good, even Shepard's hanging in there. I think Shep is peaking here. He looks to be a decent 3-4th Line guy for Abby. At some point, maybe, but they're pr...

Re: Canucks Young Guns

Small sample size, but I was most impressed with Kirill Kudryavtsev in Penticton. Interesting comments here from an Elite Prospects guy: Kirill Kudryavtsev (VAN) was among the best activators in the 2022 draft class. Always looking to fill space, whether he's jumping down the middle, using a give-an...
