Re: Who Do U Want to See as Next GM of the Nucks?
"A vegan who doesn't like the gym"...anyone surprised? I can imagine how well he meshed with your more shall-we-say 'conservative/macho types' in the room (cough cough - Miller - cough). I remember reading in Petey's pre- and post-draft coverage that he stuck up for immigrant kids in school. Take ...

Re: Who Do U Want to See as Next GM of the Nucks?
Some outside perspective from someone we don't really like, but kind of interesting just the same..

Re: Drafting the Ruck twins - yea/nay?
As for back to the Rucks, if at 24 Liam is available and Canucks have them there as BPA and do wind up making the selection, the next 8 teams could be salivating to see what they can squeeze out of them to move up for the bro. At the same time, we should treat that same scenario as an advantage ...

Re: Canucks News N Notes 25-26
When you think about it, winning a Caldr4 Cup with the worst-drafting franchise in the NHL is no mean feat... This is an underrated point. With basically no blue chip prospects, he put together a championship team. He has nothing to work with in Van either - maybe he can do the same thing? That ...

Re: Drafting the Ruck twins - yea/nay?
I don't know about everyone else, but I find having Mr Aquilini back in action in the war room, working with inexperienced alumni again, really makes for an enhanced internetting experience. I think it's going to be a fun draft this year.

Re: Drafting the Ruck twins - yea/nay?
The answer to me is simple. When pick 24 comes around if one of them is BPA then you pick him. If the other one falls to 33 and is BPA you pick him. I do not see them as game breakers that we should be going out of our way to draft. We need to improve our prospects pool and you do that by sticking ...

Re: Drafting the Ruck twins - yea/nay?
Yeah, Mr Aquilini ain't passing over the Bains twins, lol.Carl Yagro wrote: ↑Fri May 15, 2026 4:08 pm Corn, you could easily be describing the same scenario as drafting the Bains twins, Hardeep and Arshdeep.
I know the ringmaster need sideshows for his circus, but only if they are the best available freaks as HW says.

Re: Drafting the Ruck twins - yea/nay?
I just think having twins that are iffy prospects has some real potential to be a headache for management. This is a very valid concern - one in Abby, one in Van - one pans out, the other doesn't - trade one, trade both? It also kills the promotional value, eh Corn. What do you think the chances ...

Re: Drafting the Ruck twins - yea/nay?
Mr Aquilini's presence back in the war room with inexperienced management will be worth tracking. This kind of PR laden move will be a tell tale sign of his influence to me, should it come to pass. Very true. Further tell tale would be reading the genuineness in the Twins'/RJ's tone when they ...

Re: Drafting the Ruck twins - yea/nay?
For this reason maybe better to avoid. But then you can't run a team based on opinions/optics. They gotta make decisions based on what's best and if they and their scouting staff feel these kids are better than others available to them, then they gotta do it. Even if they do come up on their list ...

Re: Canucks News N Notes 25-26
Johnson may be well respected and all that feel good nonsense but what the fuck has he really done in Abby? Ok a championship is a good thing but that seems like a group catching fire on a one and done more than a successful development program finally bearing fruit That was a veteran AHL squad ...

Re: Drafting the Ruck twins - yea/nay?
My cooncern is Mr Aquilini wanting these kids for the local publicity angle Was thinking the same after yesterday. Do they draft the new twins for the draft day photo ops, or do they not to avoid the gimmicky optics? Yeah, this could easily be an early test of Johnson's mettle. And imagine the ...
