Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)

^^abover” Wingers are instant gratification, and are run of the mill, lots available, can be had easily and are not the heart of the team but centres, defence and goaltending are always the more valuable and much harder to acquire quality in over the long haul Sure. With this logic Gudbranson >> Bo...

Re: Trade rumours & armchair pipe dreams 18-19 Sponsored by SKYO

The Habs are delighted over the Drouin trade. Sergachev is playing down on the 3rd pairing, has levelled off considerably Habs clearly won this trade. I wasn’t much of a Droiun fan but he’s having a good season Him and that rat have great chemistry, gotta give Bergevin props for that, just imagine ...

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)

Top line wingers are easy to get in the draft, they’re easy to predict and peak and decline earlier than dmen, we’re more than likely to get one this year, top end d talent is a crap shoot if there is a draft that has dmen near the top it’s right to take a chance on them because they’re impossible ...

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)

Oh Jake pounded the fuck outta Farnham alright... So all of your fellow posters on that site are wrong? If the refs wouldn’t have stepped in Jake woulda destroyed him, Farnham was being ragdolled, I don’t doubt he’s a much better fighter now. Sure... and Button basically said Juolevi is better than...

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)

If he could learn to punch someone out he'd take the next step. Agree on him in my new core list all the way. Without a prick or 2 teams dont usually win (kunitz, brown, cooke, etc) I could see Jake starting to fight more, he’s coming to the conclusion that he’s the biggest strongest guy on the ice...

Re: Canucks Young Guns

My issue is the gaping hole on the back end. If you could shore up a massive weakness from a position of strength, why the fuck wouldnt you? Because its not a "position of strength" if you let Boeser go Who replaces him?????? Bingo. We're not exactly stacked at forward. Columbus could afford to mov...

Re: Canucks Young Guns

boeser is important cause he’s not a douche like hall, horvat, boeser, petterson and Quinn will set the tone for the team. 4 super competitive and hardworking guys with major drive to succeed. If boeser wasn’t so important in the dressing room I’d be willing to peddle him for a young top 2 dman, I d...

Re: Canucks Young Guns

Button just said on 1040 that we got the best player out of petterson’s draft year. Looks like we did get a number one overall. I honestly think Quinn will be the second best in his draft year as well. Button also goes on to say good things about joulevi and basically says joulevi is better than tka...

Re: LOL

Blob, I wouldn’t label Hughes as just a specialist type dman, he’s gonna be a possession beast and he’ll play all minutes. 100% The puck is on his stick all the time, skating is through the roof, breaking ankles all the time, pisitinslly sound, gap control is excellent, excekkevt puck retriever and...

Re: Trade rumours & armchair pipe dreams 18-19 Sponsored by SKYO

We were talking about Hamhuis not Garrison. I wondered if I was misremembering things a bit and did a search of the trade at the time. By the time Hamhuis was available a lot of teams had already made decisions. Cam Cole wrote an interesting article after the deadline - "Vancouver Canucks misplayed...
