Re: Media (AKA Idiots) Rebooted

I'm paying US$30 a month for Disney, Hulu and ESPN+ (all non-Av Canucks games). Worth it for me, Family Guy is on Hulu, Marvel is on Disney.

Are these price increases for Sportsnet tied to new contracts they sign with the league, or just price gouging?

Re: Canucks News N Notes 25-26

Nevertheless, I don't think you are wrong that the most likely scenario is the Canucks aren't getting more than a 3rd for Silovs -- and that would be a pretty good return given the usual trade market for unproven goalies (or even proven backups). Of course, the market is different each year, but ...

THE PSYCHEDELIC WORLD OF SHERMAN HEMSLEY. Sherman Hemsley was into psychedelics and a huge fan of prog rock band Gong. At the height of The Jeffersons, he invited the band’s front man, Daevid Allen, to visit his home. Daevid Allen told his story to Mitch Myers in 1999. Myers included in his book " ...

Re: Canucks News N Notes 25-26

I thought he got pretty vented by the Oilers and we should have gone back to DeSmith once he was healthy. I thought he had a horrible NHL season last year. I understand the “potential” but we need to move on on one of them. I think most people here know that he still has a lot to prove at the NHL le ...

Why? They can make cash right away, play competitive hockey and get an education.

Re: AROUND THE LEAGUE - 25-26

I could also see some players considering a move from the AHL to the NCAA for about the same money - AND get an education.

Of course- not many players will be making 700k at this point, but as time moves on, NIL deals will go up.

Re: Canucks News N Notes 25-26

Also, PuckPedia's updated their assumptions about who is on the roster, and the Canucks have $795K in space if they want to go to 23. That means they could include Bains or Sasson or Raty or Woo, but not Sushi or Mueller (without sending down one their assumed roster players). But not Sivlos (850k ...

Re: Canucks News N Notes 25-26

But I also think that is unlikely to be a good thing it is far more likely that if Woo is better, it is because those true prospects underperformed than Woo found magic at 24. Agreed - I'm not holding out hope that he'll make the team out of camp - but with his waiver situation (assuming he needs ...

Re: League Business

Per @reporterchris and @PierreVLeBrun, paper moves will be eliminated. If a player is loaned to the AHL, they will have to report every single time and they will also have to play 1 AHL game before his NHL club can recalled him. Bonus for the players who won't be 'papered down' to their AHL salary ...

The Vancouver Canucks have signed defenceman Pierre-Olivier Joseph to a one-year contract worth $775,000.
Hope it doesn't cause a log jam.
Exactly - maybe it was a good deal, maybe someone is getting moved? Still early in the summer.
