Re: 2017 Canucks UFA signings

Re toughness: in theory, rough play would result in the other team paying the price with our deadly power play.

You're right though, there aren't many guys who will make opponents keep their heads up.

Re: Vancouver's Hockey "Media"

Wow. The Canucks drive radio. I have 1040 on because they carry the games. I learned to enjoy Tom Mayenecht et al but the Canucks are the reason. Now I will be on KISS radio or wherever. Interesting industry. Hard on the radio jocks and staff, I assume. Wondering about causes. Puget Sound Radio has ...

Re: Canucks News and Notes 2016/17

Should the Sedins retire? They are signed for one more year. I think they are losing their hands and that Bo Horvat is obviously the most dangerous centerman right now, but if the Sedins could play 15 minutes instead of 19, and again serve as off-ice examples of conditioning and good citizenship, it...

Re: The Official CC "All Thing Leaves" thread

I see a lot of players passing up golden opportunities to finish hits on weenies Marner + Nylander. I don't watch the Leaves so I don't know, but maybe they are able to elude hits or at least not take damage. They have always been slim guys, presumably they have encountered physical play before. Cl...

Re: Trades and rumours (& fantasies) 16-17 Sponsored by SKYO

Trade ideal #5000....Sbisa + Granlund for E. Kane. Both teams can protect the new forward, & sabres expose sbisa + mccabe, that way they got a backup dman in case one gets picked. The Sabres paid a pretty steep price for E. Kane and Sbisa and Granlund are not exactly household names. OTOH, Buffalo ...

Re: Canucks News and Notes 2016/17

It would be great to see Jordan Subban on the power play, which could not get worse.

It's plausible in that Stecher was apparently pukingly sick this week and could barely play against Nashville.

Re: Canucks Special Teams

I don't think it is point men. Stecher walks the line just fine. It's that they can't get shots through. The defencemen pass the puck back and forth and that's fine, but they are stuck with no lanes, the middle is always full and the forwards are on the outside of the box. I think it needs to move. ...

Yes Cornuck. A noble loss, yes. Striving, pressing, and failing, yet all along for a higher purpose (this describes my dating life before I got married). "All in the valley of death rode the six hundred." Tanking is quite easy, it seems. It happens almost automatically after March to the bad teams, ...

The Canucks, feeling semi-good about themselves after a decent run of play, open the second half of their 2016/2017 regular season on the precipice of playoff eligibility. Are they respectable hockey players or scrubs headed back to the cellar? Do we want them to win or lose? Should they stay or sho...

Re: Canucks Young Guns

I didn't hate the Juolevi pick but my heart was with Taychook. Losing the lottery left such a bad taste, to have had Laine or Mathews aiyah. My hope was that rather than take the BPA that Benning would trade down from 5 to lower 1RP, if they are all gambles then why not go for the home runs. Logan ...

I have not given up on Rodin. And there may be assets up front from trades made at the back, if Pedan and/or Subban graduate and can usurp an incumbent
