Re: 2018-2019 Stanley Cup Finals

Yeah.. hockey ended weeks ago ;)

My least hate team is St Louis (Schenns are hometown boys) .... but I still harbour RBH (Residual Brett Hull) hate for them, so I can't really even get on the "Gloria" train..

When does training camp start?? :D

Re: Canucks Contracts

I like Leivo and I thought he was one of JB's better pickups. Did you intend this to be a stinging indictment of JB? Granted, he was "free" in terms of it being a no-prospect trade -- AHL vet for the AHL vet happy Marlies. But there are always waiver players who can do what Leivo did: eat up a spot...

Re: Canucks Contracts

Satiar: NHL teams can't walk away from arbitration awards that are less than $4.39M, which could make the Canucks think twice about going down that road with Hutton. Chance he's not qualified if Van doesn't work out a trade or extension beforehand 4x4 ish? or trade him + a forward for a top 6 winge...

Re: Canuck News and Notes - 2018-2019

Lol. duh, not a schaller fan here. With Gaunce, you knew exactly what he was. A decent defence forward who had a ton of 'hits' that nobody saw or felt, and his stick was where offence went to die. We had seen it for years with him. Excellent at the AHL level, but couldn't make it work in the bigs. Y...

Re: Canuck News and Notes - 2018-2019

Some are speculating the Canucks might still offer Gaunce a contract, but didn't want to have to qualify him at 110% ($880,000). I wouldn't mind Gauncer back as a depth guy. I think he can give us the same things as what Schaller does, but play @ league minimum and maybe has a bit more upside. If w...

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)

looch just needs the right fit bruh..but anyways. #Flyers announce they've hired both Michel Therrien and Mike Yeo as assistant coaches to Alain Vigneault. That's three #NHL head coaches on the bench. Don't know whether to call that covering all the bases or overkill. Has that ever been done before...

Re: 2019 offseason

But I would prefer trading Stecher over Tanev. Gotta disagree there. Green did a bang-up job on making Stecher a much more well rounded defender. It's still a work in progress but at the price, (and when his current contract is up, he'll still take give a discount). He hasn't hit his ceiling yet, I...

Re: 2019 offseason

uh-huh. all the while ignoring what we do 4 years from now when Quinn and EP are making 10+. hows that cap gonna work out when we have 20+ million tied up in 2 defencemen on this team?? (and 30+ in 3 players!!) When that happens to us, we will be on the outside looking in <again>, and you get to go ...

Re: 2019 offseason

Regarding Myers/Gardner. I specifically said a defenceman "like" one of those. I was saying that we are looking for a good 2/3 Defenceman who is currently paid in that 5-6million range. Guys who would hopefully be open to a bridge style contract (3-5 years) and might play above their pay grade. Its...

Re: 2019 offseason

Geesh Mad, you are pissing on my "I want EK" parade man. I know he is not the right fit today but damn that would be a good asset to get just because. Hope my grammr is ok. ;) lol.. not intentional!! but seriously, in 4 years could you imagine if we had 20 million (or more!) tied up in 2 defencemen...
