Re: The Petey Predicament

Glory Days for Petey had, for the most part, Miller and Horvat joining him down the gut. I don't see him accruing several 100 point seasons with the current state of the Canucks centre position, let alone forwards. He is out against top top most nights. I call BS on that one Per. Sorry man... The ...

Pardons shouldn’t be given out like candy, I don’t care who the president is. Pardons shouldn't be given out. Period. It encourages corruption and undermines the independence of the judiciary system when the executive branch can override it. It means a president can ask someone to break the law and ...

But I root for two teams; Vancouver and Björklöven. Björklöven are having a tremendous season so far. 15 games in, they a ...

Re: The Petey Predicament

I'm optimistic about Petey. I think it's mostly in his head, and it seems he is getting at least closer to the player he used to be. Do you think he'll be on the Olympic roster Per? I've been thinking about this lately. I think so. Based on last season, he shouldn't be, but based on what we know he ...

Re: The Petey Predicament

Getting better at what you do well is as impactful as getting better at what you do poorly, sometimes even moreso because it is marginal gains above average that present challenges for opposing players. This! ^ I'm optimistic about Petey. I think it's mostly in his head, and it seems he is getting ...

Re: Canucks News N Notes 25-26

IIRC, Scandinavians have connections with that neck of the woods since vikings sailed down the Volga on the regular. On the topic of cabbage rolls and Eastern European cuisine, I have to say it's underrated. Surprised the Swedes didn't pick up on Shashlik along the way. Yup. The Rus who controlled ...

Re: Canucks News N Notes 25-26

Swedish cabbage rolls and meatballs actually do have a Ukranian connection. In the late 17th century Sweden was a European superpower and much greater than it is today. Apart from present day Sweden it included Finland, Estonia and parts of Norway, Russia, Latvia, Poland and Germany. As well as the ...

Re: Meanwhile, on the other side of the pond 2025/26

So on Monday it was announced Bäckström won't join the team for the Finland Hockey Games tournament. :(

He needs to rest, but maintains it is a minor issue that shouldn't affect the season.

Anyone notice how small they make the Halloween chocolate bars now. Shrinkflation. Fuckers. Chef ain’t too happy, he loves to steal these while Mrs Chef ain’t looking. Last weekend she found the wrappers hidden in the sink garbage, buried I thought. Read Chef the riot act. I swear, wives pick thr ...

Meanwhile, on the other side of the pond 2025/26

The Finland Hockey Games tournament is being held next week. Participants are Finland, Sweden, Czechia and Switzerland. For the Finns, Czechs and Swiss this is good practice ahead of the Olympics. Sure, the Finns have 32 skaters in the NHL, but there is still a decent chance for Finnish SM-Liiga ...

Kind of trippy to read a game day thread about next month! :look:
Back to the future vibes.

So are you all going to bet money on this, now that you already know the score?
