Re: Canucks Young Guns

What a season for Pettersson. He’s so damn good! I’m scared because I don’t know what is going to go wrong. That Canuck don’t usually get good things. This is making me nervous, very nervous. Same here. I’m waiting for Buttman to come the radio and say pick is invalid. Somehow Toronto gets him. Ser...

Re: Canucks Young Guns

Footage from the game: https://www.shl.se/play/video/27285592 Not surprisingly, Pettersson was named playoff MVP. :drink: Another record: since the playoffs were introduced in 1975, no losing finalist has scored less than three goals. And originally the final was best out of five! Växjö completely c...

Re: Canucks Young Guns

Damn! So when does he get invited to the World Championships? It'll be nice to see him play with and against some of the best. I really can't see how they could turn him down after this performance. Sure, we have some 19 and counting NHLers reporting for duty, but there has to be room on the roster...

Your nose or your neck?
Probably neck. The Swedish equivalent to this saying actually has chin in it, so I don't really know what I got the nose from. :?

Re: Canucks Young Guns

I'm going to stick my nose out and venture a guess that Elias Pettersson has a pretty good chance of being named SHL rookie of the year. :mex:

Re: Canucks Young Guns

Oh, and I forgot; he's not just the leading pointsscorer of the playoffs. He now has ten goals, and is of course the leading goal scorer in these playoffs as well. Six minutes remaining of the second period. I'm convinced he'll get a hat trick in this game as well. Just because. This whole thing is ...

Re: Canucks Young Guns

Just to make sure there is no discussion about who to name playoffs MVP, Elias just scored his second goal of the game, which means Växjö is ahead 2-0 in game four and well on their way to a clean sweep. This brings him to 19 points in these playoffs, which of course (yawn fart) is a new record for ...

Re: Canucks Young Guns

I see Bret beat me to reporting on this game.

Elias is having a crazy good playoffs performance.
He had 14 points in 11 games before this three point game.
Now he is 17 for 12! That's a 1.42 PPG rate! In the playoffs!

The future's so bright I've got to wear shades! 8-)

Re: Canucks Young Guns

Topper has been gone too long from city life, Teslas are so metro bro. Has the league decided to go to 6 hr intermissions between periods for recharging? It’s quite rare that there is less than 6 hours between games. I don’t remember it ever happening. And nowadays Teslas can keep going through qua...

Re: Canucks Young Guns

Did Gillis give up too early on Rahimi? Mmm... Not sure. Not extremely skilled and prone to brain farts. But he has managed to make a decent career out of it. http://www.eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=3856 Then again... The Canucks have had some blueliners in recent years that he might have b...

Re: Canucks Young Guns

Per, any idea on who the last teenager was to win the playoff scoring race? Not sure if it ever has been done. When he won the regular season it was the first time a teenager had done so since Kent Nilsson in 1975/76. I also believe they are the only two who have done so. I thought of Silfverberg, ...
