Re: 2020/2021 Cap compliance

Does MacEwan's arrival maybe make Roussel expendable for a CBO? For a "gritty" player, Roussel doesn't provide any deterrent out there, I'd call him more of a larger pest than an enforcer. And if you're an optimist like Doc and think Ferland might "pull a Crosby" in his post-concussion recovery, a h...

Re: 2020/2021 Cap compliance

We can live with Sutter and Baertschi for one more year But we can't live with Beagle for two more years? If you CBO Sutter and replace him with a player that can stay healthy, that keeps Beagle in his ideal role - 4th line, top PKer doing the 12 hardest minutes a night. The cap difference between ...

Re: 2020/2021 Cap compliance

Good points Chef. The main reason I say to buy out Sutter over Beagle is Sutter is a higher cap hit for half the games. No matter what happens to the cap his year, $3 mil for A PKing defensive center for another two years doesn't concern me. An extra $1.4 mil from Sutter could be most of the raise n...

Re: 2020/2021 Cap compliance

I still see a lot of tape on Brock's wrist, over two years since it was initially injured in his rookie year. Before that he was looking like a 50-goal scorer, hopefully this extra time off let's him finally get the wrist fully rehabbed (since surgery won't be happening any time soon).

Will Lockwood stayed true to his word.
Up until now your sentiment was:

Will Lockwood stayed true to his word?
I thought it was, "how much wood will a Will Lockwood lock, if a Will Lockwood will lock wood?"

Re: 2020/2021 Cap compliance

[ The buyout candidates are obvious. (and could be accompanied by a regular buyout if needs-be) We'd save even more if we let Marko, Tanev, and Stecher walk ... bringing in a cheap seasoned vet to back up Demko, promoting Tree, Rafferty? I think a bunch of teams would be in a bigger bind than our C...

Re: Canucks Young Guns

Assuming the season is in the can, what are the odds Quinn takes the Calder? Even though its been presented as a two-horse race, I'm a little surprised the Chicago media machine hasn't been hyping Kubalik more - he's got a good shot to hit 35 goals, and an outside chance to hit 40. Quinn's got the e...

Re: Canucks News n Notes 2019-2020

If the Canucks' forwards were so bad that, say, a Roussel is getting a regular shift with Petey, then I'd be more upset about losing Dahlen. But I don't see any way Dahlen would have ever supplanted Miller, Boeser or Toffoli from Petey's line. The Rooster from last year might have been decent with ...

Re: Canucks News n Notes 2019-2020

My guess is they miss a month, seed where they lie, play. best of 5 rounds 1-3 then best of 7 for the finals Yeah, this would work. Just have to keep our fingers crossed everything goes back to normal within a month then. I would compress the playoffs even more, best-of-three in rounds 1 and 2. I t...

Re: NHL Season suspended - Now what?

The wording on the conditions for the 1st Rd pick actually simply refers to being lottery protected, not "if the Canucks make the playoffs" : The condition provided that the Lightning would receive the pick this summer as long as Vancouver wasn’t in the draft lottery. If they were in the lottery, m...

Re: LOL

Halford and Brough would fit in great at hfboards. Bitter, miserable neckbeards who could care less about the local hockey team and are far more interested in being right. Lump the nasally Sekeres and smarmy Price in there too. I can’t listen to that station other than if Tom Mayenecht is hosting o...

Re: Canucks Contracts

Curious if you understand Tanev doesn’t play PP and Hughes does not kill penalties Maybe you missed the part where Tanev has never played the PP and is on pace for his fewest ATOI since 2013? He's great, I'm just saying he's not a top-pairing. Which is why he's not cracked the top-100 in the league...

Re: Expansion draft

Is Myers' NMC modified to allow him to be exposed?

Not that I'd suggest he be exposed (especially for the sake of protecting McEwen...).
