Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)

I noticed at the awarding of the Cup how surprisingly well-spoken [Bettman] was when he isn't getting booed. I am always impressed by the fact Bettman speaks through the boos as if they don't exist. Its not easy to do that. I also think its weird that he is so hated in a world where fans seemed to ...

Re: Canucks News N Notes 2020-2021

I don’t think he is quite done yet ... I hope anyways 8-) Looking at capfriendly, it appears that even the 'economical' teams are at the cap floor. I would love it if the Canucks could move Loui to one of them but I am not sure if that will happen. Not sure what else Benning can do until he is able...

LE was always going to get minored if he's still here.
I would prefer he gets the "Tonya Harding" medical treatment and ends up on LTIR.

Re: Canucks News N Notes 2020-2021

Just heard Virtanen signed a two year deal for 2.55 x 2 years. Not sure if that takes him to UFA. I guess he can buy more rounds for his bro’s at the bars down on Davie Street. A bit surprised by the cap hit, thought it might be a bit lower. Not a huge JV fan, kind of done with him but he does have...

Re: Canucks News N Notes 2020-2021

I wouldn’t want to be Jake if he makes it to the arbitration hearing, even if he could make quite a bit more than Benning is offerings. They are going to rip Jake a new asshole. Morrison was really shaken at his hearing. They compared him to a mouse being carried on the backs of elephants (Naslund ...

I thought I heard the 28th
JV practicing for his hearing.

Re: Trade rumours & armchair pipe dreams 19-20 Sponsored by SKYO

I would only package Loui and the 1st in a trade that would bring back a RFA with term. Similar to the Miller deal last year. Ideally I would rather see a D man come back but would be okay with a forward.

Good term with the Gaudette signing, although I wish it was for 2 years not 1.

Re: Canucks News N Notes 2020-2021

However you want to characterize it, it's disappointing. To me at least. I guess I was hoping sanity would prevail after multiple setbacks last season. Ferland seems like a rare case of a player who does not care about being able to enjoy his family and the money he has earned in reasonable health ...

When I travel to Mulletville, it is out of necessity not enjoyment or exploration.

No nothing about Zary but Dube a 1C? maybe a 2C but will probably be a solid 3C.

Re: Canucks News N Notes 2020-2021

With the potential for a fucked up season including the potential of the Comet moving to a Canadian city during the pandemic Louie may have no incentive to mutually terminate his contract. Especially if they make the Comet play in Vancouver or close by. And travel will be controlled to prevent the ...

Re: 2020 NHL OFFSEASON

It really depends on the price to get rid of Loui’s contract (if anyone will even take it) that determines if Hoffman is worthwhile. When the spot you are trying to fill is next to Petey and Miller you probably already have enough play drivers on that line that you can afford an unproven Anson Cart...

Re: 2020 NHL OFFSEASON

Thomas Drance is saying Hoffman has chosen a certain team he wants to play for, but that team has to clear cap first. He suggests that team is none other than Hargraves' Vancouver Canucks. If so, would Jimmy finally bite the bullet and pay the yuge cost to move out a bad contract in today's market?...
