Re: Bountiful/Coilers Thread

He will make the tough decisions that may not be popular at first in order to create a better balance for the team. He will also control the dressing room.

Re: Canucks News N Notes 24-25

Ya I don't read that anyone, well maybe one, hates Hoglander. It is all about moving the pieces around to get the most cap and roster flexibility. You have to think that if they chased Sprong they saw warts elsewhere. We dont know Boeser will have a repeat year. We don't know if they will come to te...

Re: Canucks News N Notes 24-25

I would be all for trading one of Hoglander or Podkolzin if it was attached to the Poolman contract. We would get 3.5 in cap relief, (combined contracts). That's huge in today's cap world. Even if all we got back was a late round pick.

Re: Canucks News N Notes 24-25

I still think they like him in Abbotsford at least to start the season. There are clear areas he needs to improve in the NHL and I think getting a good number of games in is critical. Having said that if he blows everyone away camp he’ll stay.

Re: Rebooted Around the League - 23/24

There is a rumour floating around that the Rangers are now discussing buy out Trouba as they have been unable to trade him for whatever they think works cap wise.

Re: 2024 Offseason - moving forward

I think most will acknowledge that he had a let down as the season wore on and was all but invisible in the playoffs. I kept waiting for him to flip a switch. I think he has shown difficulty playing through adversity and needs to find a way to make that mental adjustment. Was he injured? I'll accept...

Re: 2024 Offseason - moving forward

I agree UW re Silovs. They staked a lot on him by using him instead of DeSmith, once DeSmith was cleared to play. He was vented by the Oilers and his weaknesses exposed. The kid still has some work to do. Re other issues about wingers Vs d’men, the Canucks may have tried to get a stronger candidate ...

Re: Raking Leaves with David Ayers Zamboni

Ha....good no sign Allvin....I take it all back. https://www.instagram.com/p/C88WHeagvZ2/?igsh=MWprNGw5cWs5NDA0cw== I read that a day or so ago but until the season starts we won't know. But it is why teams stayed away from him, including Dallas. And why he went for the contract term and cap he did...

Re: Just What Do the Sedins Do?

Disagree, bad habits can be replaced through hard work and dedication. The will to so is what is required. That can be through leadership establishing acceptable minimum standards with consequences for not meeting expectations. It is little different than raising children, and many of these coddled...

Re: Canucks News N Notes 24-25

Juulsen's development was stalled when he took a serious hit that kept him out of the lineup in his first year.He took two pucks to the eye in the same game. He suffered a serious eye injury and developed vision problems that took time to correct. He is former 1st rounder with a lot of potential. Un...

Re: Just What Do the Sedins Do?

I don't necessarily disagree. I don't think the Sedins could have made some of these guys better players. However, I also don't think the Sedins were great leaders. Certainly great example setters in terms of individual professional commitment, but despite their "legendary" competitiveness, I never...

Re: 2024 Offseason - moving forward

Important use of available cap to try to keep a balanced roster as well. If we had signed Big Z that means no DeBrusk, or no to 2-3 of the other 4 we added.

Re: 2024 Offseason - moving forward

Debrusk isn’t a 3rd line player. Yes they could have waited to sign Joshua but the risk was that they don’t get DeBrusk and Joshua walks as a FA. Toffoli’s contract is more than what we are paying DeBrusk. Not sure I want him at what the cost would be. I don’t like the 7 year term but his cap is fin...
