Re: 2019-20 NHL Playoffs

Couldn't have been to easy to win. Laughs got bumped in the play in round.

Re: 2019-20 NHL Playoffs

Zero positive tests! Thats a testament to how seriously everyone took the bubble, unlike in the USA. Kudos to Edmonton and Toronto too. Canada looks pretty good right now.

Re: 2019-20 NHL Playoffs

Congratulations to Tampa. I wanted them to win. And congratulations to the NHL for putting on an amazing tournament. Well done. And let none say this is a tainted Cup win!

My thoughts exactly. They must be planning on shopping for a FA or two.

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)

Rangers trade Staal plus a 2nd pick to Detroit for future considerations.

Re: Canucks Young Guns

I mentioned this earlier but now it seems Edmonton and Detroit have loaned nearly all of their good prospects to European league teams and we haven't done much in that regard. I'd kind of like to know what Benning's thoughts on this issue. I'm not really crazy about the likes of Dipietro and Woo wa...

Re: Pre-draft & pre-free-agent day speculation

I would love the league to investigate all these early reports about teams willing or preparing to offer players huge deals should they become UFA. Not just Canuck players either. Someone is purposefully leaking this info. Whether it is teams on the side or agents who have early indications or playe...

Re: 2019-20 NHL Playoffs

It was great to see Stamkos get a goal. It maybe the only game he sees this playoffs and at least if Tampa wins he will feel some small small part of it.

Re: The Official Dave Ayres CC "All Thing Leaves" thread

I think most of Loui's desire to keep playing is centered around collecting $12 million US. Sven Baertchi has a similar desire. ;) You mean $5M for loui for the next two years, after his signing bonus is paid, is it paid? Yes, Loui's SB was paid on July 15th. And the real dollars he's be walking aw...

Re: The Official Dave Ayres CC "All Thing Leaves" thread

I would trade the rights to Markstrom for Andersson plus a 6th or 7th though. Gets us a decent enough starter/backup for one year, a draft pick and as already said, solves our dilemma for the expansion draft. Toronto may want permission to speak to Markstrom first and I'd be ok with that. If Louie's...

Re: All or None of the big three UFAs?

Otherwise trade his rights to a team that covets him for a conditional pick. I hate to be that guy, but that kind of conditional pick no longer exists. https://www.nhl.com/devils/news/feature-breaking-down-the-mou/c-317420014 Okay I lied, I love being that guy... Thats fine. It wouldn't be worth sh...

Re: Boeser, Brock

If he keeps working on his speed and overall skating the way Bo did, and continues to learn those power forward moves, and continues to learn how to win those puck battles, well he will be just fine here long term. Yes he needs to be qualified at 7 million but nothing saying a longer term deal isn't...

Re: All or None of the big three UFAs?

Ya I don't see it as an all or nothing scenario. I think for sure you bring Tanev back on a 2-3 year deal if you can. Markstrom same thing but 3-4 years if you can. You limit his trade protection. Demko isn't going to wait 3-4 years to become a starter. I think his performance in the SCP has given u...

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)

What a colossal fuckup by the Blues. There was no reason to make the trade for Faulk in the first place. And no reason to sign Faulk to that terrible contract. Should have re-upped the captain during the past season and dangled Parayko for futures help if they needed to clear salary. Brown Lizzy we...
