Re: Canucks News N Notes 25-26

I’m hearing that Canucks have or will be talking to every player with trade protection before the draft. They want a firm commitment one way or the other. I guess they are pumping to see if they can grab another first or 2 heading into the draft. They have been receding a lot of calls on the a ...

Re: AROUND THE LEAGUE - 25-26

Edmonton kicking the tires on Demko but the problem is he won’t pass his medical until after his MNC kicks in and we would probably have to take back a Nurse type. I don’t see that as making us better.

Re: 2026 NHL Draft

Rumours also McKenna only agreed to dine with Vancouver and has been quietly letting people know he wants to be drafted by Vancouver. But I think that is media BS. Perhaps the leaves know they will take and no need to wine and dine him and perhaps SJS already know they are taking a D. Or perhaps he ...

Perhaps Mancini. He thrived under Malhotra. Manny may trust him more than Foote did.

And Karson and Sasson. Players he won the Calder with. In fact anyone on Abbotsford may have a better shot at camp.

Re: AROUND THE LEAGUE - 25-26

As UW pointed out the Habs are not desperate to shed his cap. Sure it would be nice for them but they don’t have to sell off major assets to move him. He only has one year left. If we are rebuilding why wouldn’t you weaponize our cap space and grab another 2nd for 2027? Now of course it would be out ...

Re: Who Do U Want to See as Next Coach (post GM hire) of the Nucks?

No they never interviewed anyone else. They had a general list of 4-5 candidates to “discuss” in the event something went sideways with Malhotra. But he was definitely their number one candidate. RJ was pretty clear about that before hand saying he wasn’t going to ignore an internal candidate nor do ...

Re: AROUND THE LEAGUE - 25-26

With Gallagher all but confirming he wants to be traded for his last year and won’t be back in Montreal and is really open to coming to Vancouver, would you trade a 4th or 5th to get him for the year? Would he be one of those vets who could help our young team and help rebuild the culture.

Re: 2026 NHL Draft

Agreed. We have a 3 and a 24 in a decent draft and need bodies. We are also likely to hit top 5 next year in a really good draft. Also our neophyte front office group will likely as not get bent over Or poorly guided by AIG in any trade with our draft pics heading south. I mean we're not talking ...
