Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)

Mark Spector ✔ @SportsnetSpec Two conditions have to be met for Oilers to send 3rd round pick to Calgary - James Neal has to record at least 21 goals and Lucic scores at least 10 fewer goals than Neal. I can see it now. Neal sits at 19 goals with a handful of games left. Ice time gets reduced. Final...

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)

This mutual termination seems a bit dodgy. What player has done this before? I’m sure Bettman will find a way to punish Vancouver Yeah, I feel like if there was a way to mutually terminate a contract and simply re-sign with another team then Gillis and Luongo would have done just that, or Benning w...

Re: Offseason grades so far

The only knock on Tanev is his durability, or lack there of. Chances are by the TDD he will be on IR. He is our best shot blocker and a key shut down guy. Forget offence, it isn’t his game. At this juncture we are better defensively with him but to go off script about making the playoffs, if we coul...

Re: Offseason grades so far

I would say last years coming out of nowhere for EP, the year before Brock lighting it up and Hughes impressive 5 games was your hint at whats coming. But where's the hint of team progression, moving up 3 spots near the bottom of the Standings? If we made a jump like the Habs did and just missed th...

Re: The Official CC "All Thing Leaves" thread

When are you going to toss your brand new #88 jersey onto the ice? I won't. He'll be fantastic next season. Tuna - how are they going to sign Mithcy this year? Please explain to enlighten us. They have the cap. They simply have to wait till that first RFA signs. Mitch Marner won't sign for a minimu...

Re: Offseason grades so far

The rebuild ain’t over. I mean let’s be honest, we’ve never done a full tear down type of rebuild anyway. The emergence of Boeser and Pettersson and the addition of Hughes just pushed us a nudge. No more just trying to compete every night, now nothing short of a playoff berth will do. We still have ...

Re: The Official CC "All Thing Leaves" thread

Isn't it ironic that you guys go on and on for years about the Leaves cap and yet Vancouver is in worse shape? Well since our cap projection is based upon 24-26 players we will be fine when the roster is reduced. We will tight against the cap once Boeser is signed and roster reduced no question. Bu...

Re: The Official CC "All Thing Leaves" thread

. Willie Nylander has decided to wear number 88 this year. https://i.giphy.com/media/irBV6ElkK52eQIhMcl/giphy.webp Yes and in a great PR move he is offering to replace any old Nylander jersey for the new one. All fans have to do is take the old one back for the exchange. I think this is a solid mov...

Re: Let's get creative with Erikkson...

August 8, 2017 via pro hockey rumours: Over the last three seasons in particular, we’ve seen a number of so-called “ mutual terminations ”. In fact, we’ve seen more mutual terminations over this period than buyouts. They are just as they sound – when a player and team decide their prior arrangement...
