Well Leivo will not be back. Signed with the team that's taking half our line-up. Josh signs a one year with the Flames.. Will be $875K once finalized.. now it is https://twitter.com/NHLFlames/status/1320119510548975616 Fuck Leivo. Flush twice, it's a long way to Calgary. https://i.imgur.com/rEBth2...

Re: From Bountiful to Ponoka

BCEP are the fLames going for it before gio dies? Monahan and/or rats favorite johnny_hockey were awfully close to getting traded out before these 2 pickups. I could see Johnny Hockey getting traded. I don't think the Flames are in a position to go for it. https://media3.giphy.com/media/1fjFnoQf33A...

https://i.imgur.com/Ju3rj9U.png He had a pretty good life. This is a picture of him on a Rememberance day game at the Saddledome in Calgary a few years ago. They brought a few veterans out on the ice during the opening ceremony and he was one of two WW2 vets (Navy). I should note that this is my bi...

Re: We're All Doomed!™ (the Conquest, War, Famine, and Death Thread)

One of my current clients Mom is dying from Covid, they are expecting her to pass within the next 24 hrs. She caught it from the 2nd wave that hit the Haro Care facility. Other than being of old age and in need of care she was a picture of health. Her life is being taken sooner than it should be. O...

Yeah you're right - cities suck no matter where they are. It may not be for everyone, but living in rural Alberta is just fine by me.

I live in Alberta and I stay away from Edmonton. But then again, I stay away from Calgary as much as possible too. I like the hockey team, but hate the city.

Skating Zary is a good skater, if s omewhat unconventional. His stride can be a bit short and choppy at times , but this doesn’t seem to take away from his speed. He is still above average in terms of his top-end speed and he reaches that quickly with good acceleration. Zary also has very good agil...

Re: Mick's thread full of links CLICK AT YOUR OWN PERIL

Damn straight i had to buy it. Lee doesnt exist any longer but another outfit makes them exactly the same as back then Alberta has plenty of period people all over the place. Full on mullet dudes, big haired women, time travelling metal heads right out of the 80s only now they're in their 50s. Yeah...

I haven't eaten at Trocadero's for quite a few decades ... but once upon a time it was the place to go if you were a punkass teen. Wow that brings back memories of when I was at BCIT way back in the early 70's. We always hit Trocadero's. It was my favorite pizza place at the time. Is it still there...

Re: Trade rumours & armchair pipe dreams 19-20 Sponsored by SKYO

Zary’s biggest knock on him is his skating, considered to be below average. He is not a flashy player, isn’t great in any one area, the best case scenario for him regarding his ceiling is - a Bo Horvat type player but that is “best case” scenario. Bo could handle IC duty if you put him with very go...

Re: Trade rumours & armchair pipe dreams 19-20 Sponsored by SKYO

I don't see the Flames being a contender with the current core. That being said, I didn't think the Stars were a contender either, but they made the SCF, so who knows. It was a deep draft this year, so that is why Zary dropped to the Flames. He may not end up being a Mckinnon or one of the guys of D...

Re: Trade rumours & armchair pipe dreams 19-20 Sponsored by SKYO

Agree. Monahan to me is a 2C who can play 1C, he is not a true 1C, unlike Pettersson who is. Gaudreau is best to play off a more dominate C or LW. It is a bad balance the Flames have in their top 6. They also don't have a true 2C that can take the heat off of Monahan too. Monahan is definitely a 2C...
