Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)
Apparently Kovalchuk was pressured by Putin to stay in Russia. Very important for Russia to win Gold in an election year.

Re: Vancouver's Hockey "Media"
James Cybulski, Steve Darling and Mira Laurence announced as the morning show on Sportsnet 650. Cybulski has always been good, not so sure about Darling though. Comes across as a fan boy.

Tony G has also hated on Linden since he was part of the PA that wanted to get a deal done and ultimately went behind Goodenow's back and got the deal done in 2005.

Re: Welcome to the Dark Side Minions: The Top Draft Prospect
Craig Button had it:
Florida-Ekblad
Buffalo-Bennett
Edmonton-Draisaitl
Calgary-Reinhart
NY Islanders-Dal Colle
Vancouver-Virtanen
But he for some reason has Virtanen ranked #43 ?? Must be a mistake.

Contract is front loaded so he can walk away from the last few years. No penalty to LA either if he doesMondi wrote:LA finally has a bad contract on the books!
7 years for Gabby is not best, not at 33.
But, he did earn it.

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)
Probably the "going rate" for Callahan, but I don't like it in term or dollars. Speaking of the going rate.. with the cap increase already falling slightly this year, if revenue stagnates and the Canadian dollar gets weaker it'd probably be better for the long term interests of this franchise to mo...

Re: Welcome to the Dark Side Minions: The Top Draft Prospect
One thing i got from watching McKenzies preview last night is that there are no real top line guys. He even had Reinhart as a"good 2nd line" player. Not sure if you trade much to move up 5 spots and get a player who isint much better than what you could of had. Ekblad is the only guy who had top pla...

Re: Welcome to the Dark Side Minions: The Top Draft Prospect
So if Calgary wins out their last three in regulation and we lose our last three in regulation, we get 5th, draft spot that is. Can we do it. Cheer for Calgary?? Kinda tough since Jacob is going to get the final three games to cheer for him to lose. Can you imagine the last game against Calgary if ...

Re: Welcome to the Dark Side Minions: The Top Draft Prospect
Most reports I have seen indicate their is a top 2 then a next 6. I dont follow JR enough to know but Im looking for forwards if Im the Canucks.
With Winnipeg and Ottawa both winning tonight the Canucks could drop to the #6 spot which is best case in my opinion.
