Re: Canucks Acquire David Booth & Parts
Booth is also a Detroit native who played with KEs growing up (on US junior teams) they know one another and are friends apparently. Kes finally gets that winger with speed AND hands to play with. Now with either Higgins or CoHo on that line with those two it looks like we should get some consistent...

Re: Canucks get Maxim Lapierre from the Ducks
Assuming healthy: Sedin-Sedin-Burrows Raymond-Kesler-Samuelsson Higgins-Malhotra-Hanen Glass-Lapierre-Torres That top-9 can score, the bottom line will get some minutes and make hits. I would definately have Torres on the 3rd line especially if he continues to play the way he did against Boston (or...

Re: Non-Canucks trades
I dont think its deadwood in Washington so much as trying to change the style of game they play to be successful in the playoffs. They were built as a pure run and gun team and now they are trying to play a grittier defensively responsible game and they dont have all the tools to play that way. Plus...

Re: Non-Canucks trades
Sometimes not making moves kills a GM too ie Nonis and the Richards deal which would've gutted the Nucks

Re: Canucks get Maxim Lapierre from the Ducks
Lapierre is a decent faceoff guy too, so him and glass with either higgins or raymond on the 4th line

Re: Canucks get Higgins from Florida
I think I'd rather have got Reasoner than Higgins for that price. I guess Higgins is still decent defensively and can play on our 4th line and he has similar #s to Raymond while playing on Florida so maybe he gets a chance to take Raymond's spot and potentially push Raymond to get it going. Plus Hig...

Re: The Official CC "Trade Mason Raymond" thread
Colby Armstrong makes more than Raymond and is at best a 3rd liner on a contender. Raymond does have upside but he is just not showing it this year, moving him at the deadline could potentially upset team chemistry but I can definately see him being moved in the offseason regardless of the outcome o...

Re: The Official CC "Trade Mason Raymond" thread
Raymond is by far our most expendable top 6 forward, hes got speed to burn but he has not been doing much with it. Honestly Id like to give Tambo a couple games on the second line to see if he can score a few. Raymond should only be moved at the deadline if we can acquire a player who is not a renta...

Re: Non-Canucks trades
I think Dallas definately could've got more than Goligoski for Neal but that being said its not as bad a deal for Dallas as it looks. Benn is better defensively and can move up into Neals spot and score a similar amount of goals, plus Eriksson and Morrow are also LWers. They dealt from a strength an...

Re: Hodgson back up - Oberg down - Hamhuis back
I think a Hodgson Glass and possibly Tambellini 4th line could be tough for some teams to handle regular season as its another Canucks line that should play most of the time in the offensive zone but it might not be gritty enough in the post season. I think Reasoner would be a great pickup for our 4...

Re: Hamhuis out indefinitely.
I could see Ehrhoff walking and getting a big payday somewhere (5 mill) but I think all our players and all FAs we target know that they may have to take less to play here. I think Bieksa is more likely to stay than Ehrhoff especially since I dont see Bieksa getting much of a raise, hes already been...

Re: Non-Canucks trades
I think Pietrangelos play this season has made Johnson tradeable (In Davidsons eyes) it is a solid return but Ive got to give Colorado the edge in this one as Johnson has the highest upside (whether or not he achieves it though) I was surprised that Stewart got moved as well I wouldve loved for the ...

Re: Upcomming UFA Talk
I think it will be Bieksa that stays at a slight raise and Ehrhoff the more likely to stay I think both guys realize they will have to take less than they can get on the open market if they want to stay. Bieksa and Hamhuis is a strong pairing as is Edler and Ehrhoff, Ballard is still the odd guy out...

Yeah I wonder if Raymond is not our best bargaining chip at the deadline
