UW, I've long been amazed at the over valuation of upper mid to mid round picks based upon the what ifs of chasing the statistical outlier. A couple of things missing from your argument. JB targeted players with attitudes and work ethics to bring along the younger 1st round picks coming into the new...

Hoglander looks like a steal. Love the grit, motor, skill combo of both the wingers Podkozlin and Hoglander. The two will be very complimentary to what we have here. He can sure skate. Terrific agility on his feet. His footwork was what I noticed as well. Edge work is amazing, finish, not so much.
