Canucks Blogger Roundtable

Our friends over at Nucksmisconduct.com invited us to participate in a Canucks Blogger roundtable. We’ll be joining the folks from Canucks Hockey Blog, Canucks Army, 24 Hours and The Sports Corner. Each of us will take a turn posing questions for the group and host the answers on our sites.

Nuckmisconduct.comĀ  kicks it off asking us hockey “experts” what to expect from Ryan Kesler following his breakout year and what the future holds for goaltending prospect Cory Schneider.

Hard Hats On!

If it’s been awhile since you last visited us, you’ll notice a new look to the site. I’m in the midst of a theme change that will bring the site on par with my BC Lions site, BCLionsDen.ca.

I’ll be tweaking and adding content over the next few weeks as the season approaches. During this time the message boards will remain functional, and we’ll still try and keep you current on Canucks news and topics of the day.

Don’t forget you can follow us on twitter as well, http://www.twitter.com/CanucksCorner.

I look forward to starting our 14th season of Canucks hockey at CanucksCorner.com, and hope you’ll like what we do!

#NHLTweetup a success

Last night I attended the #NHLTweetup at the Shark Club in Vancouver and it was a success thanks to the efforts of Richard Loat (@Mozy19). I was told that there were 23 NHL tweetups going on last night, including one in Belfast Ireland. The NHL came on board and provided the tweetup with official 2009 Stanley Cup Playoff pucks, a 20% off coupon for merchandise from NHL.com, a year subscription to NHL.com’s Game Center service and an autographed Roberto Luongo jersey, won by a lucky attendee.

Make sure to follow all of of these great Canucks tweeters on Twitter and stay on top of the Canucks playoff run this spring:

#NHLtweetup tonight at the Shark Club

I’ll be attending the “Tweetup” for the Canucks game one playoff against the St. Louis Blues tonight at the Shark Club in downtown Vancouver. It should be a great atmosphere. You can follow CanucksCorner.com on Twitter at http://www.twitter.com/CanucksCorner.

Canucks fan zone bloggers and other folks will be there, and it should be a fun night.

I would certainly love to meet any followers of this site, so stop by and say hello. I am sure we’ll be easy to find, and there is some talk of name tags.

CC’s Tom Benjamin on HNIC

Never one to toot his own horn, our own Tom Benjamin, of hockey’s most popular bloggers, was a guest on Hockey Night in Canada’s playoff primer show last night. I had no idea Tom was doing the show, so thanks to Lotus Blossom who gave me the heads up!

Tom really does do quality work, and it was great to see him be acknowledged by Ron McLean and the crew. If you missed it, you can check it out below!

When Tom approached me about douing a blog about 5 years ago, he told me that blogging was the next big thing, and he thought it would be a good addition to the site. He was sure bang on about that, as blogs have taken over the fan site world. I am so thrilled he chose CanucksCorner.com to display his work.

Congrats to Tom, and I thank him for his quality contributions to this site!
