RT and add your best wishes for Manny Malhotra!

The Vancouver Canucks announced today that Manny Malhotra will not return this season, or for the playoffs after suffering a severe eye injury.

While this loss is no doubt a big one for the Canucks and their fans, there is no one affected more than Manny himself. We thought it would be a nice gesture for fans to leave a comment here giving thanks to Manny for his efforts this year and to offer words of encouragement and hope for a full and speedy recovery.

So, this post is nothing more than that, a get well card for Manny. Please spread the word and leave your thoughts and wishes!

Hopefully we get a ton of comments here, and I’ll print them off and forward them to the Canucks and in return Manny.

I am from the Bay Area and a huge Sharks fan. I am also a huge fan of yours and sure miss having you in San Jose. Thanks for everything you do on the ice- you are amazing and definately a class-act. I wish you all the best and am sending prayers for a speedy recovery. Hockey needs you and so do your fans!!!

  40. RP says

Living in the Bay Area, I remember last season when you broke your nose and kept playing. You were one of my favorite Sharks and my favorite Canuck. Wishing you the best.

  41. George says

As a long time Sharks fan, I was thrilled that the Sharks signed you; I knew you were a perfect fit for Team Teal. I want to thank you for the year you spent in San Jose and you will always be a Shark to me.

I was disappointed when you signed with the Canucks but only selfishly. All things considered, it was a great move for you and while you are missed in San Jose, I was happy for you that you and your new team were having such success.

So, the news of your injury and the updates since have been weighing heavily on my mind. Of course the primary concern is that your eyesight makes a full recovery and secondly that your hockey career can resume this coming training camp.

I am confident that I am speaking on behalf of all Sharks fans, we wish you and you family all the best Manny; you deserve no less.

    A Sharks & Manny Fan

Manny, thank you for being a great player on the ice and an even better person off of it. You were always so gracious to sign autographs when asked outside of the hotels in San Jose when you were on the Blue Jackets and you were also fan favorite when you became a Shark. Thank you for the way you conduct yourself, you set a great example for players in the game today and also for the youngsters of tomorrow. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

  43. Jamie Presslee says

You were a key reason for this Vancouver team turning the corner from a division winner, to a legit contender. Your heart and character showed through out this season and winning attitude rubbed off on this team!

Even though you’re not on the ice right now, your presence is felt by the team, and fans alike!

I am praying for you (the person, not just the hockey player) and your family for the strength to over come this obstacle. You will be A-OK, and we are all anxiously awaiting official word that Manny Malhotra will be back in action- in life, and on the ice making us proud!

    Stay strong!
